About Luminaries Ministry

About The Name
The name Luminaries is inspired by the words found in Matthew 5:16 “let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” All Christians are given the light of Christ to shine in the darkest areas of this earth. A night sky lighted with luminaries is a cozy picture of how even on the darkest of night, light can break the silence of darkness. Luminaries, as a term reflects, the call to be a light to the broken world. Women matter. Their light to the world matters. On a dark night one light can be the difference to what helps guide a person home to safety. However, Luminaries being plural is more than just one woman having to stand alone. Many women standing together, growing in faith, and shining their lights can bring many more people home to safety.

Purpose

Therefore, to help “iron sharpen iron” and gather women together to encourage one another to be lights in the world, Luminaries Women’s Ministry will be created to provide a weekly group for women to gather with God at the center learning about women in the Bible. The activities in the group will meet the specific purpose, goals, and objectives of Luminaries ministry. Luminaries will strive to be a much-needed outlet that will help women grow in faith and connect with other Christian women, especially the women in the Bible. When the women gather with a mind centered on God, the encouragement and advice given is built on God’s standards and not the world’s sin corrupted viewpoints.

Life Verse
“Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this:  He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the sun. Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.” Psalm 37:3-7
